Binance will allocate $1Million specifically for African Developers launching projects on the Binance Smart Chain (BSC), ChanPeng Zhao says while launching the Binance Africa Developer Course.
Likewise, the CEO of Binance expressed how important African developers are to the company. Hence, the course is free of charge for all participants.
The masterclass will equip African developers with the skills they need to launch projects on BSC. The course is to run for eight weeks. After the course, there will be an African hackathon where some projects will be winners. Winning projects will share the $1million fund to run projects on Binance Smart Chain.
Binance wishes to train 1,000 developers across Africa. However, over 18,000 applicants were showing the high interest of Africans in blockchain development. There were over 1,000 attendees on Zoom. Also, as at the time of this writing, the Livestream saw over 24,000 viewers on YouTube.
“Africa is a very vital segment in our mission. Thus, we will continue to push such programs in Africa and other regions.”
– CZ said about the masterclass.
What is Binance Smart Chain?
BSC is a:
- Protocol that is 100% compatible with Ethereum. Thus, you can leverage all Ethereum tools and dApps functions on BSC.
- Proof of stake decentralized protocol with a stake-based consensus that features community contribution.
- Cheaper and faster protocol that reduces transaction charges, unlike Ethereum.
African developers can therefore leverage on Binance Smart Chain (BSC) for their crypto projects. Hence, the exchange will allocate up to $1million for African developers who win in the hackathon.
